we're planning on maybe getting a dog, but if we do we want a dog that will stay kind of a small size.

any ideas of dogs that don't grow to big?

Hmmm! Miniature yorkies, Corgies or any breed of Spaniels don't get very big and a miniature Yorky would almost fit in your pocket when you first bring it home. Same with Chiwawas.

I personally like Beagles. They don't get very big, but they're not the small, yappy kind either. I think they're a great size for an indoor dog that's not puntable. I'd *never* actually punt one, but some teenny dogs look like you could.

I would personally reccomend shelties, corggies, or chiwawahs. Shelties look like minature collies, and have the personalities of Austrillian Shepards. They are a bit shy, very intelligent and effectionate. Corggies, however you spell it are great, small compact, personable, gentle, full of energy and smart as a whip, with a personality a bit like a German Shepard. Chaiwawas can also be wonderful dogs if you get them from the right breeder. Mind you, not toy chiwawas, they're nasty, but regular old Chiwawas. They're fun, very small, and real little charictors.
